What is Amigurumi you ask? Here's the Wiki description:
Amigurumi (編みぐるみ?, lit. crocheted or knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animalsand anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.[1] Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features,[2] as is typical in Japanese culture.
My husband actually bought me a crochet book on Amigurumi over a year ago but I never opened it. For some reason it use to intimidate me. But I've been really inspired lately to make my own Amigurumi. I think as I've been crafting my skills on crochet, I've gotten more confident. This basket of fruits are actually my first set of Amigurumi. I made them last year for my photographer friend to be used as photo props. I had fun making them but the downside to it was I developed carpal tunnel after making them for 2 weeks.
I'm working on a new Amigurumi doll now. Can't wait to show you the finished product!
